Immunization

This is entirely your own decision. As there is no malaria in the Himalayan areas we are staying in and travelling to, it may be wise to check an expert source of information first. By taking the advice of someone who has little knowledge of these regions, you may arrive unnecessarily burdened by side effects. For example, in the U.K there's 'The London Hospital for Tropical Diseases' who give expert advice. Whatever your decision is, it's wise to have vaccinations in advance so you arrive feeling well.

Flights to India

In 2006, India opened its flight doors to direct, cheaper flights so it's worth shopping around. As you'll also be travelling within India, it really is best to get a direct flight to conserve energy. European flights usually arrive in the early hours of the morning. Please inform us of your flight details and arrival time at least two weeks before your departure and rest assured, we will definitely be there to collect you whatever time you land.

Insurance

In India, both medical and dental treatment is relatively cheap compared to the West. (On our Ganges retreats, you will be very near what some westerners consider to be the best dental hospital they have been treated in.) But even so, it's wise to take out your own, personal insurance covering the entire trip, including lost baggage, plus a cover that also protects you should you have to cancel after the final payment is made.

If you have to cancel after the final payment and we can fill your place, we will return 60% of the fees paid. (See 'Responsibilities' on the booking form.) We have our own insurance covering helicopter transportation should it be needed in the remote glacier regions.
