Lazarus' Cuisine for all our Retreats

We provide three nutritious, hygienically prepared meals a day which are included in the overall price. Being acutely aware of the dietary problems westerners face when visiting India, we take the utmost care in preparing all your meals. When preparing western dishes, we use virgin olive oil. There is also a hot beverage mid-morning, afternoon tea (served with homemade cake or handmade biscuits) and a milky night time beverage.

The main problem for westerners visiting India is that they have little resistance to bacteria because the water they are used to drinking and bathing in contains disinfecting chemicals. Our drinking water, in remote areas, is from a pure, underground source but even so, it's filtered, boiled and served to you in jugs, as we try to steer clear of using plastic bottles whenever possible.

Because of the remote locations used, and the difficulty in acquiring provisions, a full restaurant menu is not possible. There are two choices each mealtime (both western & Indian dishes) which are varied daily.

There is a menu board changed daily. When travelling outside of our retreat settings, the Lazarus team prepares packed lunches for your personal health and safety. There is also a fixed menu of various snacks and drinks available at an additional cost. Filtered, boiled water is provided (free of cost) in jugs throughout the day.
